1996 Caprice/Impala SS - Safety Overview

Crash Avoidance Features

  • Standard 4-wheel anti-lock brake system
  • Predictable, responsive handling provided by body- on-frame construction and rear-wheel drive.
  • Horn can be operated by pressing anywhere on the steering wheel hub pad covering the air bag.
  • Standard child security rear-door locks, when activated, prevent rear-seat passengers from inadvertently opening the rear doors from the inside.
  • Front disc brakes (four-wheel discs on Impala SS) improve brake cooling.
  • A brake/transmission shift interlock.
