I would like to go but since I am 1500 miles away in one dircetion,& cant get the time off I won't attend this one. I am making plans on going to the "SSHS-10" if they have one this year & possibly the "LT-1" shootout in Bowling green on labor day weekend. |

| I've been to a few of the shootouts and a few nationals. I do recall you DCM at a shootout, might even have a picture of it. But I've never seen you at the nationals, who do you cruise in with? |

I have 4 Impalas, the DMC has been stored for 4 yers now, I've driven the 94 SS to the 05-06-07 Nationals and 08-09 SSHS. Plus fly in to Impala Fest in 05-06. The DMC has only been to Impala Fest 04 and the SSHS4. Look for me this year at SSHS10 will be there for sure. |

Nice ride(s) Richard. Wish I could, but circumstances dictate otherwise. Please don't take it as a forumwide lack of interest and/or enthusiasm. It's there. It just manifests itself differently for different people. C'est la vie. |

| Richard, awesome on the miami speed car. That is a piece of impala history! That car is beautiful and with all the 1 off stuff on that, if I had the money to buy it I don't think any amount of work would deter my from keeping it! In defense of things breaking, there aren't many 9 second 4000 pound smallblock cars that DON'T break often. It's part of the game with a car like that. But you learn from parts breakage and upgrade! |

Thanks for your comments, I was well aware of what I was getting myself into when I purchased this car. I care more for the history and beauty of this beast than the negative things that have happened. I have competed in my different categories in my life and I clearly understand that when you push things to the limit something will give. No one can ever take away the FACT that this was the first 9 sec street able SS. I have gotten many complement from guys who are at the top of this game. Sadly many who could never be at this level talk smack and try to bring it down. Regards |

Richard,
First and foremost;
I congratulate you on the new "toy" and your continued success!
Now……..
Making friends on this forum as well as our community in general is what it’s all about man, it’s a shame you don’t feel that way.
As far as chating about non-sense goes, do you ever take the time to read any of the threads you don’t start? Some cats here really know their stuff about this car and lay down the 101 all the time to new folks as well as the seasoned vets. Same goes for the “other” forum, some guys over there will just flat out impreSS you into the ground with their sheer knowledge of the subject.
It takes mega heavy cash flow to make a mega heavy car go really really fast. If you got that cash flow and are up to the task of shoveling it into her non-stop, I say congrats again!!
But, you must remember this (and kinda respect it too).
Most cats here (and on other B body forums) are not on "top of this game" because we are real busy being married and working killer full time job(s) to feed ourselves as well as our kid(s) at home, not too mention keeping a roof overhead and putting the youngins through a decent school (without metal detectors at the entrances) with some nice up to date clothes on their backs. All of this while keeping a 14 year old car on the road to make a weekly paycheck (cuz in my reality the lone SS is a daily means of transportation and not a stored toy).
I think I can speak for everyone here…..we would all love to be on "top of this game" man and purchase a ton of toys for show and tell purposes as well as the annual trip to National events.
Where do I sign up for that gig man, I work extremely hard too!
You see, its all in the way you type and come over in tone, and you do come over really heavy at times in a kinda “rubbing it in our faces” sorta way. Maybe you don’t mean too, but you do.
Look at Dave (Roktman), he does it with claSS and approach and never ever throws what he has parked at his house (or stored somewhere) directly in your face. I think it’s safe to say Dave is respected by all here. I know I respect the man, mainly because of the way he handles himself as well as others on this forum. Its kinda like swinging casually into the "International Renters Forum" and boasting about your newly hired French maid (whos digits are; 36-24-36) that brought your ice cold imported beer, $200.00 stogey and Wall Street Journal out to poolside last evening after your top chef prepared meal at the 50,000 square foot fourth home (where all hired help reside 24/7).
You just can’t do that sorta stuff, you need to lay low and respect others who don’t have what you have in life (and its not that they don’t work hard either).
I bought my SS new in 1996 with cash but you will never ever see a picture of her posted on this forum. And when I buy the extreme low-miler soon (to drive everyday) that chick wont be posted either (unleSS someone requests that she be). But hey…..that’s just my style.
I never liked purchasing someone else’s unfinished or finished headache (don’t care what kinda history it has), it just never ever really feels like it’s your car. Not to mention everyone at the “top of the game” knows it ain’t really your car (cuz you never turned one bolt on it).
Again, my congrats to you sir.

Criss,
Much respect for your words and my apologies to all I offended, I'm not going to run and delete what I said just because I was kind of pissed off went I said it. I do see many here as a family and I have respect for those that show it. Moving forward I like to visit here and see what you guys are up to (Impala related). I post pictures of my projects to make things fun and I do find lots of useful information on this site.
I only post Impala pics and never really speak of other cars I own because it is not my intention to show off.
I appreciated your comments you sound like a real gentleman. Hope to meet you soon at an Impala event.
Regards,
Richard |
