| Hate to mention the dirty "rings" word, but you can diagnose those by spraying oil into each cylinder, replacing plugs and seeing if she'll fire then. If she does, might be more than a blown head gasket. |

| Flip it over, give it an old-school "V" like they had on the back of 57's. With a nice nickname in the middle...Anyone have a nickname for this thing? Or maybe bring the 'Touring Sedan' from the trunk emblem into the front emblem in a nice font.... |

I'll find out in a couple days whether it’s the gasket or not, things just aren’t adding up. Even with the 60lbs of compression in cylinders 2-8 I’m thinking it should still run. We’ll see what the local shop comes up with, I’m hopping I’m just did something stupid and not to expensive in my haste to finish the project.

I was also thinking of doing the touring sedan theme in the center, Ima have to do a few photoshops see what I can work out. |

Thanks Chris.
Guess I’m a little behind in the updates.
After getting the car home from paint I ended up with some engine gremlins So instead of trying to do a rebuild on an engine with nearly 200k. In the interest of saving some time I opted to just replace the motor Not something I was looking forward to especially with fresh paint. But my friends and I got the job done this past Saturday. A big thanks goes out to my friends Ron and John for giving up a Saturday to help me out I’m going to do some minor cleaning and call it good enough.I may add the powder coated intake and painted valve covers at a later date. But for now it runs and I’m calling it a day, Im tired of working on this bucket. I also burnt up my old starter after repeated long cranks trying to get the old motor to start So I decided to give the Corvette starter a try. I’ve only started the car twice but it sounds good, just little different that a stock starter.
Here’s a pic of the old starter vs. the new Corvette starter. There a little shorter but with more torque, not that I need it with a stock motor. But I got it for the same price, so I decided to give it a try.

I'll get some new pics up soon. Just have to do a few more things. New exhaust Shocks Tint Trunk Kit Rotate balance and front end alignment. |

Its been a long road from this

To this , I'd do it all over again but with a few changes.

The exhaust was done on the cheap; I had my old stock Impala exhaust put on the Roadmaster since it's in like new condition And the windows were tinted, but not near dark enough. So it goes back Wed. for a re-tint and full detail. And there’s still a few minor things like adjusting the headlamps. I also forgot to plug in the passenger side mirror when I reinstalled them, damn ADD.
For now this project is done |

I know the Impala clip on a Roadmaster is nothing new. But T84’s on a Roadmaster, I hadn’t seen that yet, so it had to be done. As for the wheels ima roll what I got, since I just bought the tires last Aug. But eventually I will add my old Impala springs and a set of black SS wheels.

Thanks John, I’m pretty happy with the end result. The build did turn out to be a bit bigger than I first imagined with having to replace the motor But with nearly 200k on the car I knew I was on borrowed time. Just didn’t expect it to crap out on me as soon as it got new paint. I'm glad it’s done and on the road again, and I’ve gotten a few complements and a few WTF did you do to that car

Still have a few mods comming, nothing huge just a few tweeks |

| The lighting on that shot makes it look like something out of an early 90's GM brochure. Ever figure out an idea for the grill emblem? Or is this a done-deal? |

I still want to do something with the old school grill emblem,
I just haven’t had much time to mess with it, I did build a solid mounting attachment, I just need time to work up a graphic and get it printed. So for now I just stuck a red bowtie in there. It doesn’t look bad, just not creative enough.

Sorry for the crappy pics battery was about dead so they turned out like shat. They look good on the viewfinder when I was taking them. But reality is quite different
It’s been awhile since I’ve made any updates, but I’ve been busy. I’ve made quite a few road trips with the Roadmaster in it new form and everything has worked perfectly. So I decided to do a little more. I’m removing the center section to make room for a console. Pretty simple really, but I don’t think a “how too” has been covered on doing this. So here goes, with crappy pics.
The driver’s front is nearly identical to the passenger side with the exception of a couple arms that are welded to the seat frame to support the armrest section. And those arms are what need to be removed.

Undo the clips that hold the seat material to the frame, you don’t need any tools just lift them off.
Remove the 4 10mm bolts that hold the armrest.
Pull the seat foam back so you have a clear shot at the welds.
And lastly, pick your weapon to do the cutting. I used a Portaband to do the cutting then a flapper wheel to smooth out any burs.
I’m taking it to a shop tomorrow to have the extra material cut and refitted, and have both front seats repadded. After 200k of ass time they need it I also had a few extra dash badges from some junk yard shopping I did a few weeks ago. Since the letting on them is raised I had to smooth it out using sand paper. I’m taking them to a sign shop and having some lettering added.

And the console, it’s from a 95-99 Buick Riviera.

I want to keep the pull out coin tray/junk draw of the Roadmaster, so the top of the console has to be trimmed to clear that. And it needs to fit more forward anyway, so trimming is a must.
This is where I left off tonight, the trimming is done. Just need to glue and fold over the material and staple in place. Then make a mounting bracket. But I’m also thinking of getting an inverter and adding that to the console. Sure would come in handy on long road trips

I didn’t get the car pressure washed like I wanted But the ghetto rigged front end worked so well that I drove it to the shop. I was going to have it towed, (AAA) but hell this worked great. I had my buddy play the role of escort, got a few strange looks from people as we rolled through town.

My friends and I plan to get an early start on the clip tomorrow; I hope we can get everything wrapped up before it gets too hot out
They let you roll like that down there? lol. Looks good man. |

Seats are done and ready to install, the console however still needs to be SEM’d. I was hoping to have it installed tonight but the wiring took much longer than I expected, I hate wiring I’ve added lights to the inside of the consol storage areas and a few extra power outlets.
